home for the holidays

(December 24th, 2004)

quickie… I’m on LI. Much of my vaction has been spent catching up iwht an old friend named sleep. But I did find out that I got an “A” in my Ethnographic Methods course and an “A-” in my Perspectives course. The dreaded Language in Culture is still an “i” and will remain so until I finish my essays.

oy.

Happy holidays all.

done with the last class

(December 10th, 2004)

Language in Culture, of which I’ve blogged before, finally is over. At least part one of the course. And at least the lecture section. I will be bringing the final home for the holidays (if you will).

Yesterday I turned in my Perspectives final at 5.00pm. From the time I blogged until then was pretty stressful. I went through every known emotion to man and tried like hell to create a few new ones.

Most of that was due to the fact that I hit a roadblock at the 11th hour. Thankfully it cleared around 3.00pm and I was able to write about psychoanalysis in regards to it’s application in the article we were writing about. This was a good thing, as prior to it, I was prepared to kiss my academic life goodbye.

I’ve been thinking about publishing my papers to the site… not sure about that though. At best, they would serve as great material for putting folks to sleep.

final five

(December 9th, 2004)

five hours and a lot of revisions I’ve been working on this term paper for close to 48 hours straight. I can’t wait to be done. Very very soon.

one down, three to go

(December 8th, 2004)

Eth Meth is in.

Now I’m onto perspectives and that’s due on Thursday at 5.00pm. I’m still in the outline phase. I aheva lot of work to do on this one.

We just got the language and culture finals. I gave them a quick glance, groaned and did my best to ignore their existance. They’re going to be really difficult.

oh I’m library bound, i’ve done the crime one too many times

(December 6th, 2004)

Final season is offically on. I’m currenlt working at the library. I’ve all but wrapped my Ethnographic Methods final paper and I’m starting on my Perspectives paper. All that remains after that is Language and Culture and I don’t expect I will get that final until finals week is over. Gotta love grad school.

By this time next week I’ll hopefully be home for the holidays.

waitin… less than two weeks to go

(December 1st, 2004)

currenlty I’m sitting on the floor in Pick Hall waiting to meet with my preceptor. I am alive. But things are intense right now. This week is, in theory, the last week of classes. Next week is in theory finals week… but, Language in Culture has chosen to violate that model. My last class for it is December 10th, technially the last day of finals. The final is due the 17th, more than a week after finals are due. Did I mention the huge amount of suckage?

Things are going really well otherwise. Drea visted for Thansgiving and eventually I’ll post some pictures of our adventure.

BTW thanks to everyone for the supermarket suggestions. We ended up staying in Hyde Park at the Co-op, but one of these days I’ll journey to Trader Joes.
